About us

421 is a management consulting firm serving clients of various sizes across the banking, payments, and fintech space. We are relentlessly committed to leading our clients through change initiatives and complex transformations by ensuring they are optimally positioned for the future of finance.

Our family-like company culture is characterized by proactivity and a strong entrepreneurial spirit. We always strive to be the market leader in our niche, and to grow sustainably while always maintaining our well-respected reputation on the market, as well as amongst our employees and partners.

Our highly respected AML Risk & Analytics (“ARA”) practice focuses on helping our clients solve challenges on the most complex end of the financial crime prevention spectra. Blending strategic and analytical thinking with hands-on practicality, we work to develop and implement market-leading solutions and strategies at the intersection of analytics, risk, and compliance.

About the role

You’ll work as part of our AML Risk & Analytics Practice supporting clients, primarily in the financial services industry, facing challenges of developing and implementing tailored concepts for risk recognition, measurement, and control.

With support from experienced colleagues, you will assist clients in understanding and quantifying risk exposure, evaluating risk strategies, and building and assessing risk models by being staffed full-time on one engagement or by providing ad hoc assistance to several engagements.

This includes gathering and analyzing information, formulating and testing hypotheses, and developing and communicating recommendations. You’ll also have the opportunity to present results to client management and implement recommendations in collaboration with your team members. You will be expected to contribute to knowledge development by helping define and expand distinctive risk-based methodologies to support top management in strategic decisions.

  • Academic degree in Economics, Finance, Engineering, or other relevant discipline with quantitative and/or analytical influences
  • Typically 2+ year of relevant consulting experience (preferably with risk focus) or comparable experience in the financial services industry
  • Exceptional analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team and create an inclusive environment with people at all levels of an organization
  • Capability to drive independent subprojects in the context of a broader team project
  • Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively both verbally and in writing, in both Swedish and English

To fit into our ARA Practice, you must be solution-oriented, analytical, and able to roll up your sleeves to get the job done. We also hope that you will enhance the company as well as our ARA practice with your knowledge and experience in order to help drive our innovation even further
